by The Philippine Community Council of New South Wales Inc. (PCCNSW Inc.) has launched the Earthquake Survivor Support Drive for Southern Philippines (ESSDSP), a humanitarian fundraising campaign under its Philippines Australia Disaster Emergency Response (PADER) Program.
The initiative aims to provide urgent assistance to communities affected by the recent powerful earthquake that struck Southern Philippines, causing widespread damage to homes, public infrastructure, and livelihoods. Thousands of families have been displaced and are in need of immediate relief and recovery support.
Through the PADER Program, PCCNSW Inc. is mobilising the Filipino-Australian community, partner organisations, businesses, and compassionate individuals across Australia to extend much-needed assistance to those affected by the disaster.
Funds raised through the Earthquake Survivor Support Drive will help provide essential relief items, including food packs, clean drinking water, temporary shelter materials, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and other emergency necessities. Support will also contribute to longer-term community recovery and rehabilitation efforts in severely affected areas.
PCCNSW President Grace Liston emphasised the importance of solidarity during times of crisis.
“Natural disasters know no boundaries. As members of a global Filipino community, we have a shared responsibility to assist our fellow Filipinos facing hardship. Through the PADER Program, we are providing a practical avenue for Australians to extend compassion and support to earthquake survivors in Southern Philippines,” the President said.
PCCNSW Inc. encourages individuals, community organisations, and corporate partners to contribute to the appeal. Every donation, regardless of size, will help provide critical support to families working to rebuild their lives after this devastating disaster.
The PADER Program was established by PCCNSW Inc. to coordinate timely humanitarian responses and mobilise assistance for communities affected by natural disasters and emergencies in both the Philippines and Australia.
