The Philippine Community Council of NSW (PCCNSW) is mobilising the Filipino-Australian community across New South Wales to rally behind the Philippine Women’s National Football Team—popularly known as the Filipinas—as they face Japan in the quarterfinals of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 on Sunday, 15 March 2026.
The highly anticipated match will kick off at 4:00 PM at Stadium Australia, where Filipino supporters are expected to gather in large numbers to cheer on the national team.
In the lead-up to the match, PCCNSW conducted a promotional campaign in Blacktown, encouraging Filipino-Australians and football fans to attend the historic game. The event featured the official tournament mascot, Naara, who joined community members in generating excitement for the upcoming quarterfinal clash.
History continues to unfold for the Filipinas. In just a few years, the team has rewritten Philippine football history—qualifying for the country’s first-ever appearance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and now advancing to the quarterfinal stage of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
Their remarkable journey reflects the power of belief, teamwork, and Filipino pride on the global sporting stage.
As the Filipinas prepare to face powerhouse Japan, PCCNSW is calling on the Filipino community in New South Wales to unite and show their support. The organisation hopes a strong turnout of fans will bring the energy, passion, and pride of the Filipino diaspora to the stadium.
“This is a proud moment for our community and our nation,” PCCNSW representatives said. “Let’s come together, wave our flags, and show the world the strength of the Filipino community in New South Wales.”
The call is clear: this Sunday, all roads lead to Stadium Australia as supporters rally behind the Filipinas in what promises to be an exciting and historic quarterfinal match. END #PCCNSWCommunityMedia
